Using a sample of 534
women entrepreneurs, the study employs descriptive and quantitative methods to examine the impact of
entrepreneurial characteristics, firm characteristics, financial attributes, and policy frameworks on financial
accessibility. The findings indicate that financial attributes and policy frameworks significantly influence
access to finance, while entrepreneurial and firm characteristics have a lesser influence. This suggests that
enhancing financial education and creating supportive policies improves financial access for women
entrepreneurs. The results align with global research, suggesting the need for targeted interventions to
empower women in entrepreneurship. This research contributes to understanding the challenges women
entrepreneurs face in accessing finance, emphasizing the importance of financial education and policy
support. It provides valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and financial institutions to foster an
inclusive entrepreneurial environment, supporting economic growth and gender equality in Nepal.
2025-04-23T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2025 SMS Journal of Entrepreneurship & Innovationhttp://journals.smsvaranasi.com/index.php/smsjei/article/view/2236The Power of the People's Voice: Challenges and Opportunities of Community Radio in Bangladesh2025-04-24T11:19:48+0530Kazi Sonia Rahman, Joint Directorksoniarahmanbard@gmail.com
Community radio, a powerful tool for social change, has emerged as a vital platform for marginalized
communities. These dormant expenses,
ranging from compliance fees and building charges to digital presence, create a substantial financial strain
on the operations of the entrepreneurs. This study is descriptive in nature, analysing the various non-revenue
generating investments that entrepreneurs face in their day-to-day operations, which leads to a financial
burden. A structured questionnaire was developed to identify various non-revenue generating investments
and the financial strains they caused, and responses from 1079 entrepreneurs across micro, small and
medium enterprises in different districts of Tamil Nadu were collected. The responses received from the
entrepreneurs depicted that non-revenue generating investments weigh heavily on business operations. The
study aims to provide strategic policy modifications to help entrepreneurs tackle these non-revenue
generating investments and focus on their growth. Entrepreneurs are inclined to adopt strategies that lower
needless expenses and streamline their business processes, allowing them to allocate resources towards
innovation and growth.
2025-04-23T15:46:06+0530Copyright (c) 2025 SMS Journal of Entrepreneurship & Innovationhttp://journals.smsvaranasi.com/index.php/smsjei/article/view/2238Organisational Culture and Leadership- a Key to Competitive Advantage2025-04-24T11:19:48+0530Robin Kaushal, Assistant Professorrobinkaushal2020@gmail.comMeenu Singla, Assistant Professordrmeenucommerce@gmail.com
As social media has become an integral part of everyone’s life, so the content of users’ messages also reflects
the dominant culture related to a particular issue or problem. The South Gujarat’s rural economies have also shown tremendous potential of transformation.
The main driver behind this socioeconomic change is tribal entrepreneurship. Despite many challenges,
these enterprises are thriving to survive. The current study attempts to do reflective thematic analysis by
using an inductive approach of in-depth examination of lived experiences of 14 tribal entrepreneurs in three
districts of South Gujarat. The data analysis was conducted using Nvivo software, which facilitates in-depth
examination of qualitative data and Microsoft Excel. The findings of the paper indicates that the sharp shift
towards micro, small and medium manufacturing and service enterprise has positively impacted the lives of
entrepreneurs and their family. There is immense economic and social upliftment can be seen in rural
economy due to this enterprise. Further, low education level and absence of systematic knowledge of
business administration constraints towards to holistic development and scalability of these enterprise, a
handholding support to existing entrepreneurs should be incorporated by the Government agencies with
various Non-profit organization instead of creating new entrepreneurs. It reflects employees' disengagement and dissatisfaction, resulting in
decreased performance and increased costs for organizations. This study investigates the phenomenon of
absenteeism by analysing existing literature on its causes and effects, focusing specifically on the
manufacturing sector. Various factors contribute to absenteeism, including poor working conditions, long
hours, inadequate job satisfaction, health-related issues, and insufficient employee welfare programs.
Absenteeism is influenced by individual, organizational, and environmental factors. Key contributors such
as stress, low job satisfaction, and poor work-life balance lead to increased absenteeism, which directly
affects company productivity and morale. Long working hours, lack of incentives and inadequate welfare
measures significantly contribute to high absenteeism rates in all types industries. Unfavourable workplace
conditions and limited rewards often result in disengaged employees, further exacerbating absenteeism.
Poor working environments and excessive workloads are critical factors in raising absenteeism rates.
Studies revealed that implementing wellness programs and enhancing employee engagement can
effectively reduce absenteeism levels. The integration of health and wellness initiatives, along with
fostering a positive and supportive work culture, has shown substantial improvements in employee
attendance. This concludes that addressing absenteeism necessitates a comprehensive approach, including
enhancements in workplace conditions, better work-life balance, and a strong focus on employee health and
engagement. Such strategies can lead to a more motivated workforce, improved productivity, and reduced
operational disruptions. So there is a pressing need for managers to focus more effectively on addressing
absenteeism issues and to develop more comprehensive leave policies.
2025-04-23T17:25:40+0530Copyright (c) 2025 SMS Journal of Entrepreneurship & Innovationhttp://journals.smsvaranasi.com/index.php/smsjei/article/view/2244Socio-Economic Conditions of Textile Workers in Ludhiana: A Comprehensive Study of Labour Market Dynamics2025-04-24T11:19:47+0530Neetu Jha, Research scholarjhaneetu384@gmail.comHarvinder Kaur, Retd. Professorjhaneetu384@gmail.com
This study examines the socio-economic conditions of textile workers in Ludhiana, one of India’s largest
textile hubs. Based on a survey of 520 respondents from a workforce of 2,604 across 17 textile units, the
research explores critical aspects of employment, wages, working conditions, and socio-economic
disparities. The study distinguishes between the organized and unorganized sectors, revealing substantial
wage gaps, inadequate housing, and limited access to education. Furthermore, the research highlights the
prevalence of gender-based wage differences, with women workers facing higher job insecurity and lower
pay. The paper also investigates the socio-cultural dynamics of caste, with workers from marginalized
communities often occupying lower-skilled and lower-paid positions. A notable finding is the heavy
reliance on migratory labour, which exacerbates living and working conditions, as well as limiting upward
social mobility. The study emphasizes that addressing educational barriers, improving wage structures, and
enhancing living conditions can significantly improve workers' quality of life. By bridging these gaps, the
research suggests that policy interventions could not only benefit workers but also enhance the economic
growth potential of Ludhiana's textile sector. This study provides new insights into the complex labour
market dynamics within the textile industry, contributing to the understanding of labour market inequalities
in India.
2025-04-23T17:30:43+0530Copyright (c) 2025 SMS Journal of Entrepreneurship & Innovation
